I’ve been off work on a leave since the 1st. So far I’ve taken out a couple of bags of garbage and bought some jeans and underwear. Other than that I’ve pretty much been in bed since I can’t really walk. Lots of stuff to do around the house but zero energy to do anything.

Hand-foot syndrome, a side effect of chemo (only a month left!). The skin on my soles and palms is dry, flaking off in sheets and thus exposing the raw skin underneath . I am also having a hard time opening jars, tearing bags open and using tools for the same reason.

I found a bag of fruit snacks in my nightstand the other day, you know, the kind you put in the kid’ s lunch. For the life of me I couldn’t tear it open, restoring to nail clippers to get it started.

I cannot wait for this little bit of hell to be over...

When you have a week off, it’s Easter or Thanksgiving. When you have two weeks off, it’s Christmas. And when you have TEN weeks off, it’s SUMMER! And I’m at about Week 9.5... Sad!

Thanks for the recommendations.  I’m definitely hooked on Smarter Everyday and Abom79, and will have to look into the others that you mentioned . I always look forward to finding good new channels. Sounds like better time off than my K -12 teachers had. Though in U pstate New York, we did get a week off for skiing Presidents’ Day.

I hadn’t noticed that. At least he keeps it low-profile, like how In n Out burger has the same at the bottom of each of their cups.

One fun thing that frequently occurs in This Old Tony’s videos are humorous   cameos by other YouT ube machinists; Abom79 frequently shows up in these. His stuff is quite entertaining, and even my parents watch him.

I missed that joy by taking a 12-month position. I was making about the same pay as my friends who took 9-month positions. The choices at the time were slim.
